What is Skin Resurfacing with microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion skin resurfacing is a treatment that improves wrinkles, skin texture and color by removing the topmost layer of skin leaving it softer and plumper. Skin resurfacing also stimulates the elastic tissue beneath the surface of the skin resulting in a healthier and firmer appearance. Diamond microdermabrasion treatment is non-invasive, pain-free and requires no down time after treatment.
The length of the treatment and number of treatments vary depending on skin type and condition. Results are gradual but highly effective. Most people experience softer, smoother skin after their first treatment. Recent studies have demonstrated about 45% thickness in skin after a series of microdermabrasion procedures. It also kick starts the skin regeneration process.

Diamond microdermabrasion-better than crystal mcrodermabrasion.

Diamond microdermabrasion is the latest form of this treatment and has following advantages over crystal microdermabrasion.

1. No crystals left imbedded in the skin and floating around in the air.

2. No environmentally hazardous material to dispose of after each procedure.

3. No crystals left in the hair and clothes of both the patient and clinician.

4. No need to wear a particle mask or eye protection or remove contacts.

5. No crystals to cause irritation in eyes and airways after the procedures.

Who should not have it?

You should not have a microdermabrasion treatment if you have recent herpes outbreak, warts, active weeping acne (stages 3-4), active rosacea, unstable diabetes, auto-immune system disorders, recent laser surgery, recent start of Retin A, recent medium/ deep chemical peel, recent waxing, and if prone to hyper pigmentation. Active eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, vascular lesions (haemangiomas or “port-wine-stains) and telangiectases (“broken capillaries”). You must not have it if you are HIV or hepatitis B or C positive. Bleeding disorders, warfarin and aspirin therapy are relative contraindications. Accutane therapy should have been stopped at least 2 months before the procedures.

How often to have it?

Clients should come for a microdermabrasion session every two weeks. A proper skin care program combined with microdermabrasion is key and will augment and enhance the results of the treatment. A series of 6-12 treatments can be carried out. After this you can have maintenance treatments once every three months. The fact that microdermabrasion is performed in a series of treatments allows the clinician to gradually and safely take the skin to new levels of health and beauty without compromising its delicate nature.

What is oxygen facial?

After the microdermabrasion procedure, we apply a mask to your face and can turn up the oxygen flow in order to give you a complete "Oxygen Facial".

The oxygen oxidizes the oily sebum found inside the pores, helping to eliminate the oil as a food source for bacteria which have a role in active acne.
