PDT- photodynamic therapy

As we age, skin becomes thinner and drier and develops sags and wrinkles due to the loss of
collagen and elastic tissue. Sun damage leads to the development of brown spots and
pigmentation and the aging process leaves our skin texture and pores more visible.
Our photodynamic gel utilizes an advanced glycosphere
nanoparticle delivery system which enhances stability and absorption, leading to impressive results. Users of PDT indicate that it provides a quicker and longer lasting result than traditional peels, along with the clinically proven benefits of phototherapy.
With its ability to penetrate deeper into the skin, PDT improves texture and tone and corrects skin imperfections such as pigmentation and sun spots. It is also a very effective treatment for acne, rosacea and sun damaged skin.

What’s in PDT and how does it work?
The photoactive ingredient in PDT cream promotes naturally occurring Protoporphyrin IX (PPIX) production within the cells. When exposed to light therapy PPIX converts to singlet oxygen within the cell. This causes the skin cells to trigger an inflammatory cascade of reactions within the tissue, resulting in improvements in the appearance of pore size, skin tone, and skin firmness. In addition,
hyaluronic acid is combined in the formulation to maintain moisture, aiding absorption of the glycospheres and helping to prevent post treatment dryness.

What happens during PDT treatment?
It has 4 steps-skin preparation, application of PDT cream, activation of PDT with laser/ light source and post treatment care.
